Slightly Unplug the Phone Receiver

Ever so gently unplug the telephone receiver from the actual telephone unit. You want to make sure the clip that retains the plug in place will allow the cord to come out easily. The next time someone answer the phone, the cord comes out.

Name 31 Flavors

This is a great phone prank if you happen to know the number of a pay phone at a mall or perhaps the number to a gullible victim. Call up someone and pretend to work for Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream using your best radio DJ voice and say, "Hi, I'm calling from Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream and if you can name 31 ice cream flavors in the next 31 seconds, we will pay you $31.00! Are you ready? ... Go!"

[wait a few seconds]

"Oh I am sorry, you are out of time!"

Then hang up the phone.

Chances are your caller will sputter and desperately try to name one or even two flavors.

Remember, many people have caller ID and have last number recall, so if you want to be anonymous, remember to block the call before you dial.

If this works, wait a week and call the person back and claim to be from Krispy Kreme.

Hang Up on Someone

One good way to end a conversation with someone you do not want to talk to in the first place is to hang up on them in mid-sentence. Hit the "End Call" button on a cell phone, press the button on the phone carriage so there is no sound of the receiver hanging up. In the age of cell phones and random disconnects, this prank becomes more believable every day.

If they call back ask them why they hung up the phone on you. Talk to them for a while and do the same thing again. If they call back a third time, you can always tell them something like, "you know, I do not have time for such childish games" and hang up on them by slamming the phone down like you would ordinarily hang up the phone.
